The Dean's Alumni Council
In March 2011, the Penn Vet Dean’s Alumni Council replaced the formal VMAS Executive Board. The Veterinary Medical Alumni Society (VMAS), which has existed since the first graduating class formally named its alumni group, remains in place and is comprised of all alumni, residents, interns and fellows. All members of the Dean’s Alumni Council (DAC) will be personally appointed by the Dean in consultation with Alumni Relations staff, the Assistant Dean for Advancement and Communication, and other Council members, representing a diverse demographic related to geography, class year, gender and professional interests. Founding members of the group will include VMAS leaders in recognition of their distinguished years of service to the School.
MISSION
The mission of the Dean’s Alumni Council is to work closely with the Gilbert S. Kahn Dean of Veterinary Medicine and Office of Alumni Relations, Advancement and Communication on various projects to connect alumni, students, and the public to the Penn Vet community for the purpose of alumni engagement and stewardship, community ambassadorship and student interactions.
