Procedures for Applying for Fall 2010
Veterinary Medical College Admission Service (VMCAS) will provide an electronic application by June 2, 2009 for entry in Fall 2010. An application fee will be charged by VMCAS while Penn will charge a processing fee of $60. VMCAS will forward your application to the schools you designate at the application Web site http://www.aavmc.org.
VMCAS will process and forward your letters of evaluation. Electronic Letters of Recommendation, eLOR, will be the method of submitting recommendations to VMCAS. There will be no Evaluation Form online to be downloaded and copied as in previous years. Transcripts and GRE scores must be sent by the applicant directly to the schools to which you are applying.
The application deadline will be October 2 at noon E.D.T. for receipt of your application and evaluations at VMCAS and for receipt of your transcripts by Penn. The last date to take the GRE for this admissions cycle is November 1, 2009. GRE scores should be forwarded to the Admissions Office by December 1, 2009.

Check or money order will be accepted and must be made payable to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.
Candidates can complete the electronic VMCAS application any time after June 2. The Web site is http://www.aavmc.org.
No applications will be accepted after October 2 at noon E.D.T. by VMCAS for the class entering September of the following year. Those applicants who applied previously but who were not selected must apply again if they wish to be reconsidered. Applicants are notified of receipt of their application by letter no later than December 1. At the same time you will be informed about missing documents.
The order in which applications are received is not the determining factor in the selection of students. Personal interviews with the Committee on Admissions are by invitation only. Applicants are notified of the committee’s decision between January and April. Unsuccessful applicants may request a personal or telephone appointment for counseling.
