PennHIP Evaluation Report

Certified PennHIP members perform the PennHIP procedure at their practices and send the radiograph images to the PennHIP Analysis Center for evaluation. After the films are reviewed, a Hip Evaluation Report is mailed to both the veterinarian and the owner. An example of this report is pictured below.

The top middle section contains information about the veterinarian and the owner, as well as the radiography date and the date the radiographs were received by the PennHIP Analysis Center.
The top left section contains information about the dog.
The Results section contains the distraction index (DI) measurements for both hips, information regarding the presence of DJD and cavitation, other relevant findings and an interpretive summary for each hip.
The Laxity Profile Ranking section contains breed statistics, a comparison of the dog's laxity with the rest of the breed and information regarding breeding criteria using PennHIP results.
